We went to Nashville, and came back with pictures.
So lots of stuff to report. We went up to Nashville to visit friends and a fair hunk of Sandra’s extended family and of course, to show off the baby. We were actually told we weren’t invited to a party if we didn’t bring her along.
We introduced Sam to Sandra’s Granny Mac and got to spend lots of time with the Flatt’s (their dogs adopted Sam very quickly… it was funny to watch Guinevere herding and protecting her). We went to a party with lots of extended family, and were amazed at how well Sam slept through fireworks… even some VERY loud ones less than 100 yards from the house.
And Sam is starting to realize that she can move around in the house. She’s been able to scooch backwards and to the side for a week or two now, particularly in her crib, but tonight was the first time she actually drug herself forwards to reach for something (that’s the last picture in the set). She’s able to get back on her knees sorta well, so crawling is VERY quickly approaching… let the appliances beware.
And without further ado, here are the photos.
Sam playing with her bath tub
It's hard not to love that smile.
Though she's coming to love the camera
Sam and Mandy Flatt
Our friends the Moore's (Eric, Kari, Evan and baby Grace)
It's a bit of a silly hat
Until I met Ruby, I hadn't met a lap/yip dog who was worth anything, but Ruby's sweet, and not much of a yipper
Sam and her great-grandmother (Granny Mac)
Sandra, Sandra, Granny Mac and Sam(antha)
she's getting her two front, lower teeth in, so she's chewing on everything now.
Sam vs. a porcelain doll.
Sam wins.
Two good shots of Sam and her mom.
Though I like this one a little better.
Sandra's extended family threw a small party. Lots of people were there.
And more
and a boy who didn't want to smile for the camera much... I think it's because I beat him in Mario Kart. ;-)
Sam's uncle Scotty
Sandra and her brothers love hanging with Sam.
Kyle and Janine (SP?) and Sam
She loved the border collees at the Flatt house... Gwynne had basically addopted Sam after a few hours of confusion.
Sam didn't like cherry's much.

Our gracious hosts for the long weekend.
And the silly godfather
Who Sam seems to tolerate.
Sam and Mandy.
Ruby again
Sam on her 8 month old birthday.
Showing how she can open cabinates (we need to get the magnetic locks soon)
And Sam finally has figured out that she can drag herself forward a few inches to get something. She's REALLY close to crawling.

What a cute kid. She must come from a terrific gene pool.
Cute pics!! I really like Sandra’s new hair!
Rubi kinda looks like a firefox
so cute!!! wish i could’ve been there.:)
I especially like the one where Sam tries cherries. I think I “awhhh”ed continually through the pictures
