So we’ve been crazy, and all over creation this summer.  But we do have photos… more after the break more…

Sam sees Nate playing with the hammer and pegs set.

Sam takes the hammer away from Nate (gently) and says:

“Sorry Nate. Hammers are for girls, not for little boys”

I found this note from back in December.  Sandra had this conversation with Sam:

Sam: Mommy, I’m still hungry.
Me:  Okay, what do you want?
Sam:  I want eggs!
Me:  Okay sweetie, I’ll make you a couple of eggs for lunch
Sam:  Need BUTTER!!
Me:  Apparently we are raising you right.
Sam:  Yup Mommy…..where’s the butter?

This happened when I was getting Sam up from her nap.

Me: Samantha I need to brush out your hair.
Sam: No Mommy, my hair is beautiful (said in a very sorrowful and solemn way)
Me: Sam you’ve been asleep and you have some tangles. They need to be brushed out, and we need to put your hair back.
Sam: But my HAIR. IS. BEAUTIFUL.
Me: Yes, it is……but it still needs to be brushed
Sam: No Mommy No!!!!!

At this point she just runs away from me in terror of a hairbrush. I don’t think I ever did get it brushed out that day.

This was a conversation we had with Sam on Sunday morning of this week. A little background about breakfast, sometimes we have to really get on her to eat her oatmeal.

Me: Sam you need to eat your oatmeal so we can go to Mass.
Sam: I can’t
Me: Why not?
Sam: I’m scared.
Me: What are you scared of?
Sam: My oatmeal and bananas
Me: Your oatmeal and bananas?
Sam: Yessssss
Me: Are they threatening anarchy?
Sam: I don’t like anarchy!
Jason: The best way to control anarchy is to eat your oatmeal and bananas
Sam: Okay (sounding deflated)

Most of the oatmeal was eaten. Anarchy was avoided.
